The Susquehanna Valley Association of Neonatal Nurses (SVANN), a local chapter of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN), is a non-profit professional nursing organization. SVANN members are dedicated neonatal nurses in South Central Pennsylvania and beyond. Founded in 1990, SVANN was established when a small group of highly engaged neonatal nurses met in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to create chapter leadership, by-laws, and guidelines.

Currently, SVANN has well over 75 members from various institutions in and around the Susquehanna Valley. SVANN members include neonatal staff nurses, neonatal nurse practitioners, nurse educators, and nurse managers. SVANN provides opportunities for the dissemination of current evidence-based practice through its regular continuing nursing education programs, including the SVANN annual educational conference. The SVANN annual conference “Hot Topics in Neonatal Nursing,” attracts attendees from Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey.

SVANN members also have the opportunity for professional development and networking at regular SVANN meetings and at the NANN Annual Educational Conference.

SVANN generously supports nursing education and community outreach through the SVANN Nursing Scholarship Fund and its Annual Charitable Giving. SVANN communicates with its membership through email. To become a member of SVANN, you must be a member of NANN. You may become a member of both NANN and SVANN at
