The Susquehanna Valley Association of Neonatal Nurses (SVANN), a Local Chapter of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN), is a non-profit professional organization of neonatal nurses in South Central Pennsylvania. SVANN was founded in 1990 when a small group of highly engaged Neonatal Nurses met in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to establish chapter leadership, by-laws, and guidelines.
Currently, SVANN has over 75 members from various institutions in and around the Susquehanna Valley. SVANN members include Neonatal Staff Nurses, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Educators, and Nurse Managers. SVANN provides opportunities for the dissemination of current Evidence-Based Practice through continuing nursing education and professional networking. SVANN generously supports nursing education and community outreach through the SVANN Nursing Scholarship Fund and its Annual Charitable Giving.
